what is it?
Coral bleaching is a stress response much like a fever. Imagine your body temperature increasing by 1-2 °C. Over just a couple of days, it's no big deal. Now imagine over years or decades, it would be fatal.
causes
why are coral important?
Coral is vital to marine life. As bleaching continues, larger animals that depend on reef fish are impacted, therefore, risking the livelihood and food security of people worldwide.
luckily, we can prevent this!
To prevent further bleaching, we need to reduce our carbon footprint.
